ART from the HEART is an educational program with the goals to encourage expression of all ages through music, dance, drama, visual arts and literacy. With faith that each life is a precious miracle, the goal of ART from the HEART is to stir up each person's unique gifts through special events, parties and classes. We welcome participation from everyone at their own comfort level. Multigenerational classes are offered to children and scheduled in retirement homes.

Through 30 years of employment with the City of Santa Barbara, Karen has worked with Senior, Youth, Teen, Aquatic, Adapted and Inclusion Programs. She worked as a graphic designer with the Publicity Office and the Santa Barbara Police Department.
Karen owned and operated a Home Daycare and worked with children through theater groups and autism programs. She has coached Special Olympics, and foster parented 5 children in Santa Barbara.

Through the joys and trials, Karen Putnam loves to dance and considers it a blessing from the Lord for opportunities of travel to Japan, Mexico and Cuba to dance, mime and clown with children.
Art from the Heart classes, camps and parties are offered for children in retirement homes, local schools, private homes and recreation centers. Personal parties and classes are available upon request.
